Received this book as a gift & saved it for my vacation read. Such a moving, spiritual book by the author Mike Holt & the extraordinary bond with his beautiful dog Tasha. Such a bond that any dog or per owner knows cannot be broken even by the death of your beloved pet. In his description of Tasha you understand why he loved her so. The author leads you through his adventurous life that we all wish we had the courage to do but don't and his kinship with a bobcat (Fred). His love for all animals and their preservation is evident but what is most evident is his love for Tasha from the moment he brought her home and the impact of loving her left on him and how she ultimately changed his life in the most positive, spiritual way. A must read for any dog lover, cat lover, or animal lover. The author tells you there is light at the end of darkness and how his beloved Tasha showed him the way. This book is a must read! I have read this 3 times and it's well done, thoughtful and powerful. An amazing and emotional testimony to true love.
Just finished reading Tasha. Very well done. I am not much into current religious topics even though I consider myself to be spiritual, but even that subject matter was very well written. The style is very readable and interesting. It gave me a keen understanding of the author's motivation and what keeps him alive. I read it in two days, that says a lot about how it kept me interested. I look forward to the Michael Holts next book
This book touched me deeply.........Mr. Holt shared his unconditional love for the creatures of this earth, his exciting and risky adventures photographing them, and his transition to a more humble time in his life. The story is honest, candid and touching and reveals what the love of an animal can do for a human. I am reading it for a second time and highly recommend this book to those who value our wildlife and love and adore their pets.
